Are Employee Relations important and what is the role of HR in building employee relations?

In the post-Covid global world, the relationship that an organization shares with its employees is very decisive in a firm's growth.

The engagement being offered to employees in a firm nowadays has become a topic of discussion and analysis.

Reasons why employee relations are a much-discussed topic in large/medium-sized organizations nowadays:

Employment has turned virtual increasing the scope and volatility.

People have become aware of the importance of family, health, and stable life.

Employees are opting for work-from-home options thereby increasing the culture of work-life balance.

There are many organizations offering flexible working and effective work-life balance in the market.

Employee relations become a very important part of managing business in the new world.

Organizations pay a lot of attention to attracting new talents but the present world of customer satisfaction demands a motivated and self-driven workforce to retain customers for long-term association.

Employee relations is an HR attribute that integrates an organization with its workforce through information technology, best HR practices, and sustainable work ethics.

Employee relationship management of an organization acts as a unit for nurturing a company’s interaction with the workforce and increasing business prospects.

The overall goal of HR in Employee relationship management is to retain and inspire the employees of the firm and then transform them into assets that work for the firm in the long term.

When the firm’s technology is automated enough to synchronize HR functions such as performance management, salary, ethical codes, etc., then employee satisfaction is attained.

The role of HR remains crucial however upper management and their policies limit the powers of HR to practice fair employee relation schemes and plans:

-Mentoring

-Guiding

-Negotiating

-Planning

-Separating

Thus, communication and commitment toward employees and their families can work wonders for organizations.

Thank you !!
