A crisp and subtle resume outshines and stands out chances over 75% of contenders.

A resume is an important first step in the selection process. Based on the research of more than 100 resumes, the following tips can be followed to make your resume stand-out

5 Tips for making your RESUME among 10% that reaches till INTERVIEW:

1. Wrong- I am a hard-working, detail-oriented Software Developer with 6 years of experience.

Right- Never use words like Detail-oriented, hard-working, dynamic, self-driven, etc.
Instead, mention- Collaborated with 100+ Clients and delivered integrated solutions.

2. Wrong- Personal information having address, city, and Pin Code.

Right-  Mention Contact number, Email id, and LinkedIn Profile.
Nobody cares for the address and city where you stay in today's virtually connected world.

3. Wrong- Resume more than 500-600 words.

Right- The recruiter views 1 resume for less than 1 minute, mentioning key accomplishments, the latest updates of your life and not your entire schooling, percentage of marks, etc.

Only freshers need to mention their marks, the percentage that too if they are good enough, otherwise it can be replaced by key achievements in college such as participating in events, handling internships, representing academic clubs, etc.

4. Wrong- pratap.sunil2009@gmail.com, riyaverma_princess01@gmail.com

Right- pratap.sunilP@gmail.com, vermariyaRV@gmail.com

Make Gmail id easy to pronounce and add it to your RESUME. As a grown-up professional, email IDs made in college won't work.

5. Wrong- Mentioning key work responsibilities of last job or current job.

Right- Mentioning key accomplishments to highlight your skills, your forte. Try to quantify your key achievements.

Example- Completed 125% of the target making my team Top performing in a specific contest. Formulated 15 International Projects for the company within the stipulated time and budgeted metrics.

Don't forget your RESUME will have to stand 1000 similar RESUME; to stand out, it has to be subtle, short, and relevant.
